Suprasorb H, Hydrocolloid Wound Dressing  

Suprasorb H is a self adhesive wound dressing offering good absorption of discharge; for the care of non-infected superficial wounds with light to medium discharge, e.g. leg ulcers, decubitus ulcers, weeping second-degree burns, abrasions with moderate discharge, wounds healing by second intention and fistulae. The hydrocolloid layer, which consists of absorbent particles that are capable of swelling up, creates a perfect, moist wound environment and promotes granulation and epithelialisation. When it comes into contact with the wound, the discharge is absorbed, the hydrocolloid swells up and moulds itself exactly to the structure of the wound. The formation of gel prevents the dressing from sticking to the wound, and makes dressing changes painless. Depending on the amount of discharge, Suprasorb H can be left on the wound for 5-7 days, which means fewer dressing changes and consequently a cost reduction. The semipermeable polyurethane carrier film protects reliably against microorganisms and moisture, yet allowing the exchange of gases so that excess water vapour can escape.
